Hang Gliding Equipment
With more than 40 wings to choose from, Stunt Wings has the largest collection of vintage and modern hang gliders available in the U.S. We have hang gliders of nearly every style, size, and color; including tandem, aerobatics, recreational, and motorized varieties. Many of our gliders have been designed and created for film projects requiring special colors or functions. Matching jet-black wings, red, white and blue, all white, and brightly colored wings that read well on camera are part of our collection. All are ready for flying action, props, stage and process photography.

Because there are many styles and sizes of hang gliders, it is important to identify the type of flying the script or storyboard calls for before choosing the glider to be flown. Choosing the right glider(s) will enable the pilot(s) to maximize their on-camera performance.

Portable Launch Systems
Why take the production to the mountain when you can take the mountain to the production? Stunt Wings portable towing systems allow hang gliders to fly where it would otherwise be costly or impossible; away from mountains and hills, or where access is limited. By towing hang gliders up to altitude and releasing them, we can make as many as 10 filmed flights each hour. There is no need to disassemble the gliders and transport them back up the mountain for re-assembly and re-flight.

Stunt Wings offers every type of hang glider towing system available including car, truck, or boat towing systems, stationary winch towing systems, fixed wing and flex wing ultralight tow systems.

Rigging hang gliders for close ups and precision control sequences is one of our most called-upon specialities. On stage or on location, our rigging equipment and experience lets you capture incredible flying action with precise and/or mechanical control. For blue or green screen, and process photography, we'll put the principle actors safely in the shots.

Hang Gliding Accessories and Apparel
When dressing one pilot or an entire set, the right hang gliding accessories can really make the scene work. Our rental department offers all style of hang glider harnesses and flight gear including full-face and half-shell helmets, flight suits, gloves and goggles. Windsocks, wind streamers, and colorful landing target zones.

Nothings more exciting than the aerial action covered with wing mounted or helmet mounted cameras. Available are light weight 16mm, 35mm, digital video, and gyro stabilized camera systems. Together with our camera wing mounts and special flying helmets, exciting camera angles and fabulous shots become available.

From 3 inches to 35 feet across, Stunt Wings designs and builds exact replicas as well as unusual flying machines. We designed and built all nine "bat wing" gliders flown by Kurt Russell and the cast of John Carpenter's Escape From LA. And when a realistic 1870's, wooden hang glider was needed to fly in Paramount's Legend television series, Stunt Wings was chosen to exclusively design and build the wings that actually flew.

Other projects have included everything from full scale radio controlled hang gliders to a photo realistic radio controlled flying eagle.
